Faceless is Shameless

One of the most enjoyable (or worst) features of email is that it allows us to say things we’d never have the gall to say in person.  That makes emailing an effective method for MotherBragging.  Especially for those BraggerMoms who are too busy and tired to devote an entire personal blog site to the glories of their children, but they still want to get the word out.

Here’s a real (but edited) email passed onto me by another enlightened individual, who before MotherBraggers.com, might have simply pushed delete.  Instead, here it is to shake your head at, or maybe you’ll actually wonder where your child can sign up:

babyflagHey Friends and Family!  A local radio station is having its Annual Baby Idol contest.  And we all know who the cutest baby in our area is, right? It’s our beautiful Madison!  Other parents might think it’s their child, but they’re wrong.  Please take a minute and vote for her.  You can vote once per day so that means you can vote everyday.  And feel free to forward this email to your family and friends so they can vote for her every day, too!!!

Bragging, followed by an assignment for you.  That would be a lot harder to pull off face-to-face.
